Why Permata Wira

Considered Watchmaking in Kuala Lumpur

Horological Precision

Each movement is examined under high magnification and measured on professional timing equipment across multiple positions — not simply cleaned and reassembled.

Documented Intake

Every piece enters the workshop with a written intake report noting rate behaviour, water resistance condition, and the owner's own observations — establishing a clear baseline.

Conservation First

For vintage and collector references, originality is the guiding value. Patina and period surfaces are respected; replacement is only considered when function genuinely requires it.

Horological-Grade Materials

Ultrasonic cleaning uses horological-grade solvents. Lubricants are selected specifically for each surface type and contact geometry — not a single compound applied throughout.

Measured Communication

Owners receive a clear intake summary and are kept informed during the service. Nothing proceeds without the owner's understanding of what is being undertaken and why.

Central KL Location

Located in Bukit Bintang — Kuala Lumpur's premium retail district — the atelier is accessible by MRT, on foot from major hotels, and within easy reach from across the city.

Common Questions

Before You Send Your Watch

How long does a standard service typically take?
For most mechanical calibres, the Standard Service Pathway takes between four and eight weeks from intake to collection. This includes the multi-day observation period after regulation. We provide a timeline estimate during the initial assessment.
Do you work on all watch brands?
We work across a wide range of mechanical and automatic calibres — Swiss, German, and Japanese movements, including vintage and collector references. Proprietary movements requiring brand-specific tools may be assessed individually. Contact us with details of your piece and we will advise honestly.
What happens if additional work is identified during servicing?
If the movement reveals wear beyond the initial scope, we will contact you before proceeding. Nothing is undertaken without your agreement. You will receive a clear explanation of what was found and what options exist, allowing you to decide how to proceed.
Are the prices shown on the website fixed?
Prices shown are starting points for each service pathway. The final cost depends on the calibre, its condition, and any parts required. After intake examination, we provide a written summary of the work scope and the associated cost before work begins.
How do I bring my watch in?
You may visit the atelier at 39 Jalan Bukit Bintang during opening hours — Monday to Saturday, 10:00 to 19:00. We ask that you contact us in advance so we can set aside time for a proper intake discussion. We do not accept walk-ins without prior communication.
Is the Heritage Service Programme suitable for my vintage piece?
The Heritage Service Programme was developed for collector-grade references where preserving originality matters as much as mechanical performance. If your watch carries a period dial, original hands, or a case surface with desirable patina, this pathway gives those elements the consideration they merit. We are happy to discuss your piece before you decide.
